Marti Cuevas founded Mayimba Music in 1999. Having moved to the Big Apple a decade prior with her saxophone and a quest for musical growth, the realities of two young children in tow led Marti in search of a “straight job.” First landing in the offices of legendary music attorney, William Krasilovsky, Marti went on to helm J & N Publishing/J & N Records Business Affairs department, work with legendary artists such as Aventura, Romeo Santos, and ultimately, develop Mayimba Music.
While witnessing the seismic changes in the mysterious and unpredictable music industry, Marti’s love of the music business, copyright law and the magic of songwriting has not dimmed. Music is Mayimba’s DNA. At present, Marti is on the board of of Directors at the NMPA, ASCAP and is President of the Latin Songwriter’s Hall of Fame.
